Competition Council approves acquisition of Klaipėdos mėsinė
The Lithuanian meat sector is highly competitive and we face strong competition not only from local producers but also from meat importers, whose factories are very modern, large and efficient. Concentration is therefore the way to strengthen the leading position of the meat processing sector in Lithuania and the Baltic States. In this way, we aim to increase plant productivity, efficiency and competitive advantage.
Therefore, we are pleased that the Competition Council has granted clearance for the merger and the acquisition of the Klaipėdos mėsinės brand and related assets.
